Learn How to Ice Skate

Welcome to the US Figure Skating (USFS) Basic Skills Program. A program of the national governing body of figure skating, Learn to Skate (LTS) instruction is a cost effective way to learn the basic skills of ice skating. You will learn the fundamentals of ice skating whether you’re interested in recreational ice skating, competitive figure skating, or ice hockey. Individual skaters are grouped with participants of similar age and skill level. Several levels of advancement and patches are awarded for each level.

The LTS program consists of a 30-minute lesson each week for six weeks plus one free public session each week. Classes are taught all year round on Thursdays at 6:15 pm or 6:45 pm, OR Saturdays at 9:00 am. Categories include:

  • Snowplow Sam – Ages 3 to 5
  • Basic Skills – Ages 6 to 15
  • Adult – Ages 16 and up
